Family Portraits

Our Christmas season was quite busy with family portraits.  We had a lot of fun photographing while the fall colors were decorating the landscape and the weather was still warm.

My brother and his wife and two boys and my other brother came to visit for Thanksgiving.  We had a lot of fun and a few adventures cooking our first Thanksgiving all together and on our own, independent of our parents.  I think it went fairly well.  We discovered a few ways not to cook a few dishes, but all in all the food was tasty and it was so much fun having them here.  We also managed to squeeze in a family portrait as well.

And before we knew it we were on an airplane west to visit our parents in Wyoming and Utah.  Boy, it was cold out there.  While in Wyoming for Christmas we experienced a few days of snow followed by a few sub zero temperature days.  We had all of my husband’s family together and we needed to create a family portrait.  It’s been at least 8 years since the last time they created one.  My husband was the last of five children to marry so this is the first family portrait with all spouses, and even a few grandchildren.  And of course the day we had to photograph it had to be -11 degrees.  But we ventured over to the courthouse where there was a lovely spot to create a family portrait with all of these fabulous people.  So we created this…

And I must say, “Great job everyone!  Not bad for a cold day in Wyoming.”

We also had a few portrait sessions while we were out west.

Lovely family portrait with Bel and Mia.  Their coffee table book is looking awesome!  We had fun playing in the snow with the dogs and photographed a few images on main street Pinedale.

And a few portraits of my beautiful mother.  The light in her house is perfect to create a few window light images.

Thanks Mom!  That was fun.

And we went to downtown Salt Lake to photograph a few fun images of Natalie.  It was pretty chilly, but we had a good time wandering around to create these images.

The last few months have been keeping us busy.  We always enjoy creating beautiful images.  Stay tuned for the children and newborns sessions we’ve photographed lately.
